Planet Improv, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established in 2006, whose mission is to “empower people of all ages to grow socially and emotionally through applied improvisation.” We educate, entertain, and inspire positive behavioral change through improv comedy through imagination, improvisation and creativity
To date, we have worked with over 6500 students in the Charlotte area with a focus on Title 1 supplementally funded schools.
We partner with educational organizations, the mental health community, the law enforcement community, fellow grassroots social impact organizations, local and Federal government, the entertainment/theatre community and the business community
Planet Improv relies on grants, donations and contributions to reach children and communities in need. We offer an adaptive area of workshops from dealing with bullying to handling a job interview.
ABOUT SCOTT PACITTI
Scott Pacitti is the Founder and Executive Director of Planet Improv, Incorporated and the Founder and President of Planet Improv Educational Services., LLC. He has used over twenty years’ experience in applied improvisation to develop niche improvisation-based educational programs that work with participants on developing skills to deal with issues such as bullying, self-image, conflict resolution, trauma healing and socialization difficulties.
Since 2007, he has worked with hundreds of schools and over 20,000 children in: Charlotte Mecklenburg area and throughout North and South Carolina. In 2019, he developed the SAFE Student Program which has already worked with over 6300 students. SAFE Student deals with issues such as:
- Trauma healing
- Social emotional education
- Real-world skill-building for life
He has also worked with law enforcement to provide programs for high-risk youngsters. In 2022 he was named one of Charlotte Ledger’s 40 over 40 and has worked with a host of local groups including –

Scott moved to Charlotte, NC from Pittsburgh, PA in 1995 where he had over three decades of experience with multiple Fortune 500 companies prior to the formation of Planet Improv and Planet Improv Educational Services, LLC. A native of small-town Western Pennsylvania, he earned his BS. in Communications, from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
In his free time, Scott loves anything entertainment (television, movies, podcasts,) improv, performing and his eternally frustrating sports fandom of his beloved New York Mets, Jets and is a frequent bandwagon fan of his hometown Pittsburgh Penguins.
