Trauma Healing, Social Emotional Education, Creativity/Imagination and Skills for Life and a Lifetime Sessions

Planet Improv’s mission statement is to empower resilience in students through creativity.

Our vehicle for this student empowerment is applied improvisation.

Applied improvisation is taking concepts, ideas, and techniques from the world of improvisation theatre, the improvisational mindset and applying them to: imagination; creativity; conflict resolution; conflict mediation; trauma healing; social emotional learning; like skills; relationships; and making positive life choices in moments when instinct dictates that decision need to made quickly without planning or excess planning.

Our methodology is in-person (or remote) sessions with students of all ages and grade levels.

During these sessions we first introduce and educate the students on the skills that allow an improvisational performer to be successful on a stage within the rules of improvisational theatre.

We, then, show them how these skills can be adapted to the many challenges, life skills and interpersonal relationships within their life and for a lifetime.

The sessions can span from a single hour (or less) to; multiple days, weeks; months; a semester or an entire school year.

We do our best to be as flexible as possible with educational and/or community leaders because each student or group of students have different schedules, needs and objectives.

The sessions need not necessarily be affiliated or conducted with/within a school.

These sessions can begin at any time of the year.

We do our best to make our services free to the students and educational/community organizations.  We can do so because of the generosity of donors, local, state and Federal grants.

Should we be unable to provide (a) free session(s,) we do our best to make them as affordable as possible for the educational/community organizations.
